The goal here is to get web map analytics setup with your GIS map. Currently Maptiks integrates with OpenLayers 3, Google Maps API and LeafletJS.

From the dashboard, you’ll have access to key metrics including bounce rates, web map activities and performance.

Step 1. Add a track code

To get started with your web map analytics, you have to add a tracking code. A tracking code is unique tracking ID associated to a domain name or IP address. Each map tracked on that domain, will include this unique tracking code.

With a single track code, you can start tracking multiple maps (5 maps on the FREE plan and an unlimited of maps for Developer and Enterprise Plans).

To track a web map, you’ll need to include the the web map snippet javascript code, which is unique to each web map.

Step. 2 Add a web map snippet

To start tracking a web map, “add a map”, select the mapping platform and copy the javascript tracking code.

Make sure you only select, copy and paste the javascript in the center as seen above.

Then paste the javascript code the HTML file of your web map. Make sure you add the code after the mapping platforms library code, but before the the map code.
